Steven asks…

Cheapest way to send cargo from Russia to Malaysia?

what would be the cheapest way to transport personal belongings from Moscow,Russia to Malaysia?I’m a student who’d be soon returning home for good & need to take back some books, clothes etc which might not be able to fit within the 20kg baggage limit.Paying extra for excess baggage & cargo services through airline companies are comparatively costly. It doesn’t really matter to me how long it takes for the shipment to reach so long it’s not too costly & safe.
I’ve been told logistic companies offering freight/sea-mail services would be the best choice.Tried contacting a few,but can’t seem to get any response from them.Perhaps cos it’s a small-scale shipment & not one of those import-export-business based.
Any students who’ve dealt with parcels & cargoes or anyone who has further details or contact numbers of companies in Moscow that might be useful, please drop a line.It is rather urgent as i need to make arrangements

Nagesh answers:

Pack into smaller boxes and post it. Cost only slightly more but cheaper than excess luggage.
But if u can get a freight company that would be better and only slightly less as u dont have bulk.
Dont the univ have such contacts?

Mary asks…

which printer to buy?

Canon PIXMA MP270 Printer or HP Deskjet 1050 Inkjet Printer? just for small business at home so not heavy usage just looking for best cheap printer, both are same price only £30. canon one says pages 4.8 ipm colour and HP says 12 (no mention of ipm so are they both based in ipm?)

Nagesh answers:

Does it make any difference how many pages you get each minuet?what you should be looking at
and this is very important is,are the ink cartridges separate because if they are not DO NOT buy it
because with one container holding all the colours, you never know if you are about to run out of
one,and the result is poor, very poor indeed. So what ever the price,go for quality, and do not be
overly concerned over the price,we all know the printer manufacturer try to keep the prices of ink, a lot
higher than they should be,so buy a proprietary brand they work just as well as the “named” brands..
An excellent brand of printer, and model is the,brother–DCP-145c….
