Your Questions About Best Home Based Businesses

William asks…

What would be a truly effective way of marketing a new professional music production company?

This company is in the greater Toronto area. It can cover all the bases in terms of music production, recording, composing, arranging, MIDI programming, publishing and artist development. The producer is highly intuitive, conscientious, and proficient within all musical genres. The studio’s(home based) equipment is the best within the industry standard. The company needs to attract clients/artists who actually have a budget and real business plan. I GRACIOUSLY THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

Nagesh answers:

The best way is by reputation. I would suggest doing a few pro-bono to make a reel unless you have one already. Then go to the clubs, music stations, etc and give people demos. You should have a website that people can go to that showcases what you are promoting. A lot of musicians/groups are struggling with no budget or business plan so in order to attract brand name clients, you’ll have to became a name brand. Of course, if someone is good, their band will have followers. I’ve produced a dozen music videos and 5000+ hours of streaming video.
Best of luck!

Nagesh answers:

Have you thought about being a travel writer? That would be a good way to make use of your loves for people, socializing, doing research, traveling, writing, and doing outdoor activities. Plus, you’d always be learning new things and visiting new places. If you’re not sure that’s what you want to do, why not try it out?

Have you visited the Web site Viscape (http://viscape.com)? It’s a travel-centered social media site, and right now they’re hosting a “Be a Travel Writer” contest, where every travel destination review you write gets entered for a chance to win a free trip to Belize or Key West! And while you’re on your free trip, they’ll hook you up with the local media so you can do more travel writing. It sounds like a great way to get started–and to figure out if this is really what you want to do.

Here’s more information about Viscape’s “Be a Travel Writer” contest: http://blog.viscape.com/2008/05/be-a-travel-writer-contest/
Good luck!

Socializing
being active.
Computers.
Figuring things out.
Putting stuff in order, sorting and counting.
Entering info. Into a computer
doing reasearch.
Traveling

I would say, more so the Journalist though. You’d be suprised.

Helen asks…

What is the best way to use touch-up paint on a 1/2 inch scratch?

I found a scratch on my black car near the antenna, the night I drove home from the Ford Dealer with my new Mustang GT. It is about 3/4 of an inch long and is deep enough to appear grayish white and be felt with your finger nail. The rain has not made it rust so I guess the scratch is down to the primer. Ford Dealers in my area are incompetent, and untrustworthy. I am afraid they will make it worse if I bring it back to them. I live in the South Florida area and hope someone knows of a talented scratch service business that can help me out down here. The Mustang GT is a great car, you just have to be careful to get one that has been put together right. Mine was the 8th one I test drove before I felt it was defect free. If the scratch is the worst thing that I find after a week of driving, I’ll call it being lucky. After spending 32k out the door for this 07 GT/CS, the dealer hasn’t even called me to how I’m doing. The Honda Dealer always called and touch base with me after the sale.

Nagesh answers:

This is a really hard thing to fix by youself,I have been in to detailing and light body work for many years and fixing scratches on your own is a real pain. Quick fix, clean the scratch (wax remover) and apply touch up paint,it will never truely match and you always notice the discolor in the paint, your best bet is to check at a local body shop where they can clean, sand, reprimer, paint and clearcoat the scratch and some of the surrounding area, and you’ll never have known it was ever there
