Pricing question…please help?
I have a small home–based writing business that I am expanding. I will now be offering packages geared for people using affiliate programs to make money. The package consists of advertising, recruitment advertising, recruitment initial contact email and follow-up emails, as well as a training packet. I have given this packet away before in the past as a “bonus” item but now I want to incorporate it into my usual offering. What price should I ask for it and what is the best way to promote it to affiliates?
Nagesh answers:
Why don’t you just raise the price? One pricing strategy is selling it in bundles.
For example. If a trip to Iraq costs 1000. A hotel room costs 200. Tourist trips around the city costs 100. A travel agency might put all of those together and sell everything for 1100. This way they are making less money on each item but they encorage the customer to buy a lot at once from THEM, therefore increasing your overal proft.
So in your case. Offer the same price for your main product as before AND give the option for the customer to purchase a bundle with the main product and the packages toguether
so if your main product costs 100 and the packages in any competitor business costs 50, the bundle price could be 140. This way you ensure that they buy from you

Please comment on all of these work at home ads/surveys?
I have printed all the GMA sites that they guarantee that all are legit business opportunities and most I have found are AGAIN, just scam! I also went to HomeJobStop(which is the best organized) but again so many are just scams, you waste your time to get no pay! I did sign up for on-line juror.com and have received two questionnaires that I participated in and was paid $175 for each. That was really interesting and pd.well but not many in my county so I can’t really make a living on them. Everyone has a scam going it seems and so many want you to visit their websites so they can get referral and again, most lead no where! I am very disappointed that Tory Johnson from Good Morning America has made a reputation on the guru of solid based home jobs that anyone can do, but again, I have done much research and find that she mainly wants you to sign up for hourly consultation or buy one of many of her books! I have found zero on her website that have been useful. Any suggestions? Thanks
Thanks for responding but I have been to all of the sites mentioned and don’t like any of them. I’m not looking for prizes, coupons, or entries into a sweepstakes! I will continue with on-line juror…they do pay quite well, they just don’t have that many in my area..wish they did!

the best way to advertise a business?
Our company offers many diverse products and services that applies to all home owners. We have discussed T.V.- Radio – Special events- hiring and Advertising Consultant and we “have tried”, Newspaper advertisements- inserts-post cards, web pages and worked from our data base. We have some results but want to really get things moving. We want to broaden our data base- make our phones ring and reach more customers. Without spending thousands of dollars, what is the best way to get customers to know: Who we are – Where we are – What we do?
We are looking for technics that are proven to get the word out and get positive results. HELP!

Word of mouth is the best advertising. Offer incentives to previous customers if they bring you a new customer.

Print brochures with your contact information. Try to get them to include your contact info in their brochure. Then when you are contacted, send the flowers there asap.

Cloning your hard drive?
I just read an article about cloning your hard drive. As I have a home–based medical transcription business I think this would be an excellent idea. I have a lot of patient records and store for one year.
I would like to use an external hard drive. Is that the best way to go? Which is the best brand to get? What programs are needed to do this? I’m not a computer expert, but I transferred files from an older computer to the one I have now. That’s the basic idea right?

Tm-ar&k,
Since you have a business to run at home, I’m sure you want to do what’s best for it. Here’s a link to check out that has external drives. They aren’t as fast as a regular hard drive, but can be very useful as backups. This link is backed up by pcword, too.

Another thought is to get a second hard drive. Below is a link that gives you information on this, too. They much faster then the external drives.
