What is the best way to use touch-up paint on a 1/2 inch scratch?

I found a scratch on my black car near the antenna, the night I drove home from the Ford Dealer with my new Mustang GT. It is about 3/4 of an inch long and is deep enough to appear grayish white and be felt with your finger nail. The rain has not made it rust so I guess the scratch is down to the primer. Ford Dealers in my area are incompetent, and untrustworthy. I am afraid they will make it worse if I bring it back to them. I live in the South Florida area and hope someone knows of a talented scratch service business that can help me out down here. The Mustang GT is a great car, you just have to be careful to get one that has been put together right. Mine was the 8th one I test drove before I felt it was defect free. If the scratch is the worst thing that I find after a week of driving, I’ll call it being lucky. After spending 32k out the door for this 07 GT/CS, the dealer hasn’t even called me to how I’m doing. The Honda Dealer always called and touch base with me after the sale.

I also went to HomeJobStop(which is the best organized) but again so many are just scams, you waste your time to get no pay! That was really interesting and pd.well but not many in my county so I can’t really make a living on them. Everyone has a scam going it seems and so many want you to visit their websites so they can get referral and again, most lead no where! I am very disappointed that Tory Johnson from Good Morning America has made a reputation on the guru of solid based home jobs that anyone can do, but again, I have done much research and find that she mainly wants you to sign up for hourly consultation or buy one of many of her books! I just read an article about cloning your hard drive. As I have a home–based medical transcription business I think this would be an excellent idea. I have a lot of patient records and store for one year.

Hi everyone,my mother & I opened a gift basket business, primarily home & internet based last year. While we have had some sales, it has not been enough to keep us going.Most of our supplies expired and we are out of money to try to keep going. While we bought enough supplies to make a nice variety of baskets, we didnt go completely overboard…or so we thought. We thought we were doing everything right but I guess not.We have talked to other owners on forums like this one and it seemed as if we were doing the same things.We marketed the business in local newspapers, attended a tradeshow (home tradeshow…maybe not the best type to attend?), did a couple radio ads, handed out promotional pieces at major events and walks, donated to other events, did presentations at real estate office, etc.We have even priced our baskets below what most business are asking for so I cant see the price being the problem.We took out about a $10,000 loan and its all gone and we barely made 1/4 back.
The cost of maintaining the website, paying for merchant accounts, marketing, etc without much income has depleted the entire fund over a year. I have heard others saying that they didnt see profit for the first two years but I am wondering how they get by and keep going. We havent been doing anything for the past few months due to not having the funds to replenish our supplies on top of paying the loan back. Does anyone have any advice or any similar experiences? I really want to be able to save our business and make it work well for us but I honestly dont know how to do so. We have taken business & marketing courses and I even used to work in promotional marketing but I just cant figure out how to swing this. Where do most of your sales come from? Should we try to attend gift tradeshows and if so, do baskets really sell at those shows? Should we focus on consignment? I just dont know what else to do. I hope someone can give us the advice to start us in the right direction.

Poor Credit Loan Needed to IMMEDIATELY pay off back child support to avoid jail.?

My husband is in arrears in child support, $8,500.00. I want to get a loan so that I can pay off this debt and he can catch-up. If you want an explaination of the situation, read below. Otherwise, here are my criteria: We do not own a home, we rent. I have a home–based business so income is harder to document for me than others. I own a car, it is only worth about $1,000.00. it’s a 1996 Mercedes E320. I also have a 2000 Honda Passport however it doesnt run. Both are paid-off. I think the Passport is worth about $500 in cash. BOTH my husband and I have terrible credit & debt (see below as to why) and I need to get a loan (I can afford $250-300/mo. payments on a loan.) So, with these details, are there any lenders who will loan that amount? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE!!

OUR BORING STORY:
Here’s what happened: My husband was a kid when he divorced, he did not hve an atty. & he signed away his life because he knew no better & never knew until now that he could modify the child support amount, etc. When divorced, “reasonable visitation” was ordered (7 yrs. ago) but his ex will not allow him to talk with or see the children. She is actually in contempt but that’s another story. The ex wife had my husband paying 30% MORE child support than guidelines require. He should have been paying $229 – $280 based on his income. he earns $1,800/mo. His ex earns $80K + a year. She tricked him into paying $540/mo. in support then didn’t allow him to see the kids. That said, he paid that crazy amount of support until he became unemployed in 2008 and he was NEVER behind until now. When he became unemployed, he could only afford to send $200 – 300/mo. instead of the $540. He would call the county & the state and he was always told, “Don’t worry, just send what you can on a consistant basis,” which HE DID, SO HE THOUGHT HE WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING! All of a sudden he received a contempt letter. Of course he knew he was behind, but he thought that since he spoke with both the county & the sate of SC, that he was okay and that he would not be thrown in jail because he WAS still consistantly sending at least half of what was due. He filed for a modification 2 times over the last year once I realized what was going on after I looked at his divorce papers. he had moved in with me, because he could not afford to live anywhere that didn’t have RATS and BUGS and sometimes could not buy fod because of this high support. I am NOT kidding!! I saw where he lived. So, since he was sending away 1/3 of his GROSS income, after taxes, and after his student loan payments, he was left with about $20 a month for food. Living in the rats… So after I saw this, I helped him file for the reduction after I saw his papers when he becme unemployed. NO HEARING DATE WAS EVER SET! WHY? BECAUSE HIS EX-WIFE’S BEST FRIEND IS THE CLERK OF COURT IN THE COUNTY IN WHICH THAT CASE IS A POINT OF INTEREST. NICE, HUH? So, he applied for Legal Aid but we live in FL and that case is in SC so no help, there. he has to handle it all himself because attorneys all want $5K upfront. IF WE HAD $5K, THEN HE WOULD NOT BE IN ARREARS AS HE PRESENTLY IS! (DUH…) So, that is why he is in arrears; he did not know that anything could be modified and he was paying what he thought he was supposed to be, as told by the State. On a consistant basis. Now, to keep him from being sent to jail, because if he goes to jail then he will not be able to run the business with me and therefore it will go under, we need a loan to be able to pay off the arrears. See, he’s NOT the deadbeat dd, he is the type of dad who wanted to see his kids, crying on their birthdays and all holidays because he could not speak with them because of a vicious ex-wife…having his Christmas toys mailed back “return to sender…” and, the fact that he has been consistantly paying and WANTS to work to continue to pay–but we have to avoid jail, now. To avoid this, I have to come up with the entire arrears amount immediately.
((I can’t believe they treat fathers this way: he paid every penny of that ordered $540 for 6 years until becomming uneployed, then he reported his unemployment & ws then told to “just keep on paying what you can, consistantly.” he did… Now theyre trying to throw him in jail!?

So, I paint over my clay beads with acrylic paints, and when I do, they get a little sticky, and attract hair and dust like a magnet. I read on the internet that Water-based Varathane floor finisher is the best thing to use for a nice hard coat since acrylic sprays will only leave the finish stickier. Even water-based acrylic finish. So what would you recommend? Would you recommend water-based Varathane as well? I really need help with this, since I have a home–based business to attend to.

Can anybody explain to me, in plain and simple words, how writing off business expenses work?

I have searched other questions on here and come up with one Best Answer that directed me to the IRS website, but I am still unclear. I have a home–based Administrative, Secretarial and Computer Training business that I work on part-time, in addition to my full-time job. I applied for the Tax ID Number about 3 years ago, but haven’t done anything with the business until three or four months ago. I now have one client, who has paid me a total of $170 so far this year. I have four business accounts and have purchased some minor office supplies (stapler, paper, camera, paperclips, pens, etc.). I also purchased a new desktop computer with my business account. I have a room setup as an office in my home.

If don’t think I’ll make over $400 this year because I am still trying to figure out ways to advertise. If I don’t make a profit, do I have to pay taxes? I saw something about the IRS wanting you to make a profit within 3-5 years, but what if I don’t?
I really don’t plan on purchasing any other major office supplies until I get some more business. I recently got a tax form from the IRS saying I needed to file taxes, but on what? I made no income from the business, except in 2007 which is the $100 something dollars I mentioned earlier.

I understand that I can write off anything that is related and necessary for my business. I also understand that I should keep track of everything (gas mileage, etc.). Say for instance, if I have a business gas card and I use $100 for personal gas and $100 for business gas, do I just deduct the business gas?

What if I spend more money trying to advertise and get the business up and running, than I make? Let’s say I spend $2,000 in 2008 but I only make $500. Does that mean I have a loss of $1,500? I really can’t afford an Accountant so I am trying to figure this out on my own. I think I can get it if somebody can explain it to where I can understand it.

Sister in law..to much influence Part 2?

Update on my scenario of my sister in law having too much power over my wife. Some asked is she Italian? Yes. She & hubby bought that 400K house and we do not have to relocate next to their ritzy crib to be her neighbor. You ask why not? My husband and I would like to get a new computer….?

What type of computer is best for us? I will be using an accounting program (basic) for my home based business and we will be playing games on it such as Dark Age of Camelot. I will also be using Kodak Easy Share for my pictures.
We have also been talking about perhaps leasing a computer. It seems like we have to buy a new computer or get major work done on it every few years, so would it be better to just lease one?
Has anyone here leased a computer before?

divorce in military, please help?

I am really lost and dont know what to do. My husband and I have 2 girls. My daughter and his daughter. No children together. We have been married almost 3 years. The first year we spent apart most of the year as he was in Korea. We have a very difficult past with lots o mistrust and insecurity. Nothing that I know of since we got married but alot that I found out after we got married that was lied about. 1 of them being a very serious matter. Anyway. I love him and I know he loves me. We constantly fight though. Every single day. And I cant say anything without me being stupid or him getting an attitude. He has that speak when spoken to attitude. I am so unhappy and I know he is. I dont know what to do though. He is the only dad my daughter will ever know as her real dad left before she was born and He has been there since she was 10 months old (shes now almost 5). My daughter is still, 2 years later, completely devastated that we left her nama and papa and the rest of the family and goes to bed crying every night still bc of it. But I know if we leave she will miss her daddy. We are stationed in Alaska and the rest of the family is in the lower 48. She would also miss her sister and will I very much. He has no patients though and is often really hurtful to my daughter while letting his daughter get away with the same things and she is 6 years older.
I work full time, go to school. have 3 home based businesses, take care of the girls, our 3 pets, and clean the house, dishes, laundry.everything and it is never appreciated. he finds the one thing wrong with the house and says I never do anything!!! The problem is with the distance, If I leave and we work things out I cant come back and Im scared. My daughter will miss them and I cant give her the life she has here. We have a car, own our house, she has a very stable and provided life but she hears us fighting all the time.if we leave we will have the rest of the family but no job at first, we will have to stay with family for a bit, no car, and no daddy and sister, no insurance. What is best for her? I have gotten so used to the military lifestyle. it feels really “right” I love everything about it. And will find it very difficult to adjust to civilian life again. (not bc of the money and benefits either like some girls, Im talking about the closeness, friendships, volunteering, etc) Its not like a normal divorce where she could go see them on the weekends and I could move out and we could work things out. Its one or the other. We leave and say goodbye to everything or we stay and fight. My parents fought alot when I was growing up but never even knew at all until I was an adult. We cant/wont control ourselves. We are both good people but not together. Also with early return of dependents can I move myself and get reimbursed like a dity pcs move?

I respect the anti spamming and solicitation instructions of these forums.
I made an answer a few days ago SUGGESTING a certain service of which I’m NOT officially an affiliate and they removed my answer.
I see people on this forum all the time openly posting their affiliate links telling people about how much money they’re making through these programs. I have NEVER asked anyone to join me in business through Yahoo! Answers.
I really don’t get it.
I suggested a company name that coaches people in network marketing because it has helped me personally yet they remove it. People have suggested things like cashcrate and different survey programs that pay you and they’ve used their affiliate links (which i did NOT do) to RECRUIT people to join them in business.
What should I do to get this sort of immunity?
I”m here to build relationships and share knowledge as well as gain info from time to time. I do home based business and I do my best to avoid recruitment attempts in this way.
