Take a career test at a community college. It is given free. And the career counselor will advise you.
Linda asks…
What kind of SmartPhone is right for me?
I’d like some unbiased opinions about which type of SmartPhone would be best for my needs. I run a small, home–based, knowledge-oriented service business. Most of the time, I’m at my desk (and desktop PC), but when I go out, I would like to be able to do the following: (1) read and reply to the e-mail I receive through my usual account, which I normally access through Outlook; I want my clients to know that I’m “there” for them; I don’t want to have to use a Web-based e-mail service while I’m in “mobile” mode; (2) make maybe 1 or 2 calls a day–most of my clients e-mail me rather than call me, so calling is mostly for personal use, which isn’t a big necessity anyway, since I work from home and my wife is usually there with me; (3) I’ve never found texting to be of much use–actually, I don’t even own a DumbPhone at this point and have therefore never gotten into the texting thing–e-mail has always worked for me; (4) I suppose it would be handy to browse the Web from my SmartPhone, though I can’t see myself doing much of that–once again, I’m not in the habit of doing so when away from my office, so maybe that would change once I discovered how useful it is to be able to browse for a restaurant when I’m hungry.
My big internal debate is whether to go for the fun-looking (but toy-oriented) iPhone, an Android-based device or a BlackBerry. Sure, it would be nice to have the added goodies like an integrated media player and agenda and what-not, but as far as I know, pretty much all devices have this now.
Thanks in advance for an unbiased, balanced reply (Apple lovers in particular need not apply).
Oops, I forgot to mention: I refuse to purchase a SIM-locked phone! I travel abroad regularly and need to be able to pop in a local SIM card when I get there. In case it matters, I’m in Canada where Rogers is the main GSM provider (I would need a GSM-compatible phone when in Europe). I know I can now buy a non-SIM-locked iPhone directly from Apple if I’m willing to pay the full price, which I am. To my understanding, Android-based phones tend not to be SIM-locked anyway, are they?
Nagesh answers:
Just a heads up, in case it can help you out – there are sites out there what are looking for people to test out the new iPhone 4G and provide reviews, and then they let the testers keep the new iPhone for free. You may want to look into that

Based solely on the information you gave, a career working in law enforcement might be appropriate. You could work as an investigator or criminologist. That type of career would incorporate most of the things you listed. You would have to decide if the risks associated with that field are okay with you. Also, most of those types of jobs require some type of college degree (depending on where you live, you could get away with just a 2-year associates degree). Good luck in your hunt.

You list a lot of things that seem to indicate an interest in things like investigative reporting, although you will need to overcome things like public speaking, . Your ‘don’t like list’ puts you in contention with the overall list.Since you plan to attend college, there are courses such as public speaking, and biology. I think you will have a hard time with any position because there always controls, stress, down time, and a starting salary of $45,000 per year? You will be lucky to start out at $32,000 or less. Entry level jobs are low paying unless you have qualifications that are in demand. College will give you that if you choose well.If yiou want fun and travel then become a cruise director on a holiday ship.
